Examples of these instances include applications for grants, professional development funds and scholarships as well as nominations for awards, event registrations, donations and newsletter subscriptions. This information is used in the administration of our programs, in communications and to improve our services.


Submitted information may include essays and stories you submit about yourself or others. Some information, especially in scholarship applications, may include sensitive personal information. We treat this information with additional care and confidentiality. Submitted information is only reviewed by authorized staff, board members and reviewers involved in the selections process. After award selection, we may publish general information about our award recipients in public facing publications. Recipients are responsible for notifying us of any submitted information they do not want included in our public facing publications. 


We do not sell your personal information. 

We do not share your personal information with any third parties for their direct marketing purposes.


We may share information only with:

  • Authorized staff, board members or reviewers involved in program administration.
  • Trusted service providers needed to operate our programs
  • Government agencies, if required by law.


THIRD PARTY SERVICES:

We use third-party platforms to help operate our programs such as Eventbrite for event registrations and event payments, PayPal for collection of scholarship donations and RQ Platform for scholarship applications. These services process information according to their own privacy policies. Payment information is handled directly by these providers and is not stored on our website.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting access to authorized individuals, using secure tools and systems for data storage and handling sensitive application materials with care. No system is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information responsibly.
