The NLCC Connection

The KCNA Nurse Legal Consultant Clearinghouse (NLCC) provides nurses with the opportunity to serve as nurse consultants/expert witnesses for attorneys, and provides attorneys with the names of registered nurses willing to serve as nurse consultants/expert witnesses. KCNA maintains a database of nurse legal consultants, and notifies attorneys throughout Washington state periodically about the program. When an attorney needs a nurse consultant, they call KCNA. After obtaining information about the case, KCNA forwards resumes from suitable Registered Nurses to the attorney, who then selects nurses they want to contact. Each nurse establishes his or her own rate for legal consultation services, and works directly with the attorney when contacted.
