Continuing Competency Requirements:
New as of January 1
The Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission adopted final rules related to continuing competency for all Registered Nurses and Licenses Practical Nurses. The rules went into effect on January 1. New requirements include maintaining documentation/verification of compliance illustrating at least 531 hours of active practice and 45 hour of continuing education every three years.
