Board of Directors
The KCNA Board of Directors is fortunate to have highly qualified new members, as well as experienced members returning for another term:

President
Anne Poppe, MN, BSN, BA, RN
Anne is Research Nurse/Project Director at the University of Washington School of Nursing. She is a member of the Gerontological Professionals Network and a board member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She is pursuing a PhD in Nursing and a graduate certificate in Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

Vice President
Barbara West, EdD, RNC, CNE
Barbara is a staff nurse in medical telemetry at the VA. Formerly she was an associate nursing professor at Seattle University. Barb is a member of Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses Organization, a volunteer with Northwest Kidney Center, finance/secretary of Delta Sigma Theta Public Service Sorority, and a board member of African American Reach and Teach (AIDS/HIV) Health Ministry.

Secretary
Shannon Roosma-Goldstein, MPH, BS, RN
Shannon is a Nursing Staff Development and Training Specialist with Jail Health Services, Public Health-Seattle & King County. She has worked in a variety of public health programs and is working on her MPH at the University of Washington.

Treasurer
Janice Ellis, PhD, RN, ANEF
Janice is self-employed as a nursing education consultant and writer. She was a faculty member at Shoreline Community College for more than 30 years. Janice was active in professional activities, including: president of MEDRIX, and accreditation visitor for NLN and NLN Accrediting Commission (where she is also a board member).

Heather Barr, RN, BSN
Heather is a public health nurse with Home Care for the Homeless (Public Health, Seattle & King County). She is a member of Public Health Against Institutionalized Racism (PHAIR), Black on Black Crime Prevention Committee, and Seattle King County Coalition on Homelessness.

Karen Brozovich, BSN, MPH
Karen is a public health nurse at Public Heatlh, Seattle & King County. She was formerly a board member of NW Infant Survival and SIDS Alliance and a volunteer with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of King & Pierce County.

Lori Cross, RN, MN
Lori is Manager of Inpatient Units at the Swedish Orthopedic Institute. She has served as Unit Chair at two hospitals, as vice president and president of Snohomish County Nurses Association, and chaired the WSNA Membership Committee.

Deborah Greenleaf, RN, MN
Deborah is an Advanced Practice Nurse Specialist at Public Health-Seattle & King County. Her professional affiliations include King County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sigma Theta Tau honor society.

Antwinett Lee, MSN, RN
Antwinett was formerly the Clinical Performance Lab Director and faculty member in the College of Nursing, as well as a peer consultant for the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at Seattle University, where she is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Education. Antwinett is past president of Mary Mahoney Professional Nurses Organization and currently serves on the WSNA Health Care and Ethics Committee and volunteers for African American Reach and Teach Health (AARTH).

Angel Mathis, MN, MPH, ARNP
Angel is a family nurse practitioner at Country Doctor Community Clinic. She is a member of the WSNA Legislative Committee and the KCNA Neighborhood Health Special Interest Group, and volunteers with Multifaith AIDS Works. Last year, Angel researched and wrote an article on Flu immunization Uptake among RNs for KCNA.

Pam Newsom, RN, BSN
Pam is a staff nurse at Northwest Hospital. She serves as the WSNA local chair for Northwest Hospital, for which she received the Outstanding Local Chair Award in 2008. Pam has served as president since 2007.

Maureen Niland, PhD, RN
Maureen is professor emerita of nursing at Seattle University and has served as treasurer since 2007. Before retiring, Maureen served on the Board of Trustees for Washington State Nurses Foundation, and in various KCNA positions.

Catherine Powers, BSN, RN, CCRN
Cathy is a staff nurse at Northwest Hospital & Medical Center and co-chair of their Safe Staffing Committee. She serves as local unit chair for WSNA and previously served on the KCNA Nominating Committee.

Lynn Von Schlieder, MSN, RN
Lynn is a nursing professor at Shoreline Community College. She has 40 years' experience in a variety of civilian and military settings, including the USAF Nurse Corps. Lynn has been active on the KCNA Board, Program Committee and Nominating Committee.
